The Owner's Statement

Alan Saurez, 1999. High school and college dropout founded Coastal Bend Automatic Gates at just 19 yrs old, and his "beauty" $500 beat-up pickup truck - and a few hundred in flyers. Learning the tips and tricks of the Gate industry on the fly, he realized years in his most crucial mindset change: Alano was trying to manage everything himself and hired the wrong team. In a difficult season, he fired his 5-man team of teenagers and started on his vision of building the right, professional crew who valued exceptional Service standards, customer first. By putting down the obsessive "founders grip", and hired guys like Jo and Rickky who complemented his weakness, Saurez successfully scaled his inital $500 into a $10 million Coastal Bend Empire.

Rickky's Statement

" Working across with Al in Corpus Christi, Robstown and the Coastal Bend has given us immense immense expertise with residential repairs, liftmaster's , private entrances, and commercial access controls. I truly believe we are the best in the area.

Our mission ain't to foster or enhance some fantasy driveway experience: We're here to weld, wire, and wrench the toughest, most reliable gates anyone's ever laid eyes on. We take the stress out of a secure home so you can punch your code and drive on through home." - Rickky

Coastal Bend Automatic Gates: Our Vision

Ive seen the good, bad, and downright ugly in this industry. I'll tell you straight up: Our Vision is to be the only outfit Corpus Christi will trust to secure their property right. I jumped into this in '99 and the first lesson i learned was thus: putting the customer first and not being afraid to hear that i'm wrong. Our Vision is and will forever be Corpus Christi first, no matter what. - Alan

Which electric gate is best in Corpus Christi for my driveway, sliding or swing ?

We base this recommendation on your driveway's grade, width, and available space rather than personal preference alone.

Swing gates need clear space to arc open, typically matching the gate's width on the property side. If your driveway sits on a hill or has a short approach, we usually recommend a sliding gate instead, since it doesn't require that swing radius.

Sliding gates also handle higher wind loads better, which matters given the wind patterns we see across the Tri Cities area.

Do electric driveway gates work during power outages?

We offer battery backup packages that keep the gate operational for a limited number of cycles after an outage. Solar-powered gate systems provide another option, since they charge a battery bank independent of grid power and continue functioning during outages as long as the panels receive daylight.

We also install manual release mechanisms on every gate we set up, so you can open the gate by hand if the automation fails entirely.

How long does professional electric gate installation take?

From our logs, most standard residential installations take 1 to 3 days from start to finish, once the gate and hardware arrive on site.

Simple swing gate setups with existing power access often finish in a single day. Sliding gates that require track installation, or projects needing new electrical wiring run to the gate location, typically take 2 to 3 days.

Custom fabricated gates add lead time before installation begins, since we build those to your exact specifications rather than pulling from stock inventory.

Do you repair existing electric gates?

Yes, we 20 years. We repair existing electric gates throughout the Coastal Bend, including broken openers, damaged hinges, misaligned tracks, and faulty access control systems. Our technicians diagnose most gate issues on the same visit and complete standard repairs within 24 to 48 hours. We work on gates we didn't originally install as well as our own past projects. Emergency repair calls are available for gates stuck open or closed.

What maintenance is required for an automated metal driveway gate?

We recommend a maintenance check every 6 months to keep the gate operating reliably.

This includes lubricating hinges and rollers, checking the tension on sliding gate chains or belts, and inspecting the opener motor for wear. Steel and wrought iron gates also benefit from periodic rust inspection, particularly at weld points and any areas where the protective coating has worn thin.

We test safety sensors and remote controls during each visit, since these components affect how the gate responds to obstacles and daily use.

Can an existing driveway gate be converted to an automatic gate? ?

Yes, sometimes. A gate installer must check whether the gate, posts, movement, power supply, and safety equipment are suitable for an operator. Automatic systems can be fitted to swing or sliding gates.

Can a sliding driveway gate be automated in Corpus Christi??

Yes. From our data Sliding gates can use an automatic operator, but the installer should assess the opening, support structure, and gate travel before specifying a system.

Can a commercial gate use a keypad for visitor access?

Yes. In our opinion Keypads and guest-entry systems are gate access-control options; the right setup depends on how visitors enter and leave the property.

Do gate repair companies fix a remote or keypad that won’t open my gate? ?

Yes. The problem may be the remote battery, programming, keypad, receiver, or gate operator; testing the controls helps identify which part has failed.

Should I keep using an automatic gate that moves unpredictably? ?

No. From Our experience unexpected movement can signal a control or safety fault. Stop using the gate and arrange professional inspection.
